I was born and brought up in Mumbai, India, seeing poverty around me but not being in poverty myself, made me recognize my privileges early on life, I decided to move to the UK in 2013, so I could have resources to make education more accessible back home, since I moved to the UK I have been working in technology.

In 2015 I was given a grant of £200 that changed my life, seeing the gender imbalance in the tech sector and wider lack of social mobility and the lack of role model representation in mainstream media, led me to undertake various outreach initiatives, and with that grant I reached out to women scientists via Twitter and invited them to talk about their research via a series of free public science lectures called- Explore Science, aimed at making science more accessible, and showcasing women scientists work to the wider public.

Experiencing first hand that small investment in my vision made in my life and being service oriented which is at the heart of The Burns Price Foundation we co-created The Change-Makers Initiaitve to empower young people by giving them mentoring and funding support so they can also work on their STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) social action projects making a difference to their communities.
